Kathy Sousa from Petaluma Animal Services says the two cats had come to the shelter with four other siblings looking for help. When they were found, they were just kitties with no mother.
Through their foster program, they put the kittens under foster care with Butter and Ozzy making a combination.
The cats were all set for adoption at nine weeks old, and that is Cathleen Cavin, and her daughter showed up. Cathleen told Love Meow that when they went to Petaluma Animal Services, they notice these were so cute. However, because of the rental limitations, they could not take them both. They took Ozzy and Cathy’s daughter, Cali, always thought the cats was sad without his brother.
Then Cavin promised her daughter that he would find Ozzy’s brother. When she called the animal shelter, she was informed the Butter had been taken up.
Butter had found his home four days after his brother was adopted. They were happy for him but finding him was their concern.
On June 22, 2016, something unexpected took place.
Cavin connected with a man known as Brian Herrera on a dating application in 2015. The two met after a year none of them knew they were about to find out something exciting.
Talking to Love Meow, Cavin says when he met Bria it was instant love. He then went to Brian’s house that night. She could not believe what she saw. She yelled to Brian because she thought Brian had her cat.
Brian was completely surprised by the similarity of their two cats. Cavin says they could both not believe this was true, so they then got out the adoption documents and OMG! They are brothers.
They then shared the good news with the shelter and everybody was excited. At last, Cavin found the twin brother that they had been looking for forever. The two long lost brothers were then reunited.
Cavin says Ozzy identified Butter the first night. Butter appeared to be so at ease with Ozzy that he must have identified him, too.
Cali, the daughter was so excited that her wish of getting Butter came true.
Cavin says she and Brian have since been together with their cat soul mates.
