Rosalynd Harris is a waitress at a café called Busboys and Poets in the middle of Washington, D.C.

Waitress is forced to serve Trump supporter, an hour later she sees this on her table

One day in late January 2017, a man walked into the café to have lunch with two of his friends—and the three white men got a table in the Rosalynd's section.

The men were in the capital to witness the inauguration of president Donald Trump—a person who said, among other things, "Our African-American communities are absolutely in the worst shape they've ever been in before. Ever. Ever. Ever."

Wearing "Make America Great Again" hats, the three guys stood out of the crowd, to say the least.

The café's walls are adorned with African American art and photographs, writes The Washington Post.

And Rosalynd Harris had just participated in the Women's March against President Trump two days earlier.

The waitress and the three customers were on opposite sides of the political spectrum, and the day they met was at a time when emotions were raw in the city.

Nevertheless, Rosalynd decided to put everything aside and treat her guests like her peers, just like everyone else.

She welcomed them with a smile and a little polite chitchat. And her behavior shocked not only her three customers, but also made them want to show her their appreciation.

When Rosalynd went to get the check, she was met with a giant surprise.

One of the men, James White, wrote a note on the receipt. It said:

"We may come from different cultures and may disagree on certain issues, but if everyone would share their smile and kindness like your beautiful smile, our country will come together as one people. Not race. Not gender. Just American. God Bless!"

And he also left a $450 tip!
