(www.perrygatos.es) Whether trying to imitate a cartoon character they like, a friend or a hero, it is normal for children at some point in their childhood to insist on asking the parents of a puppy.

Demands of our childs: I want a puppy!

Before rushing to find a dog to meet this child's demand, we must stop and reason for a moment if it is a good idea and thus avoid that in the future this possible pet will not become a "burden."

A great part of the abandoned animals that exist today, come from a little thoughtful adoption or even an impulsive purchase, letting us take a look at the animal, without appreciating all the effort that it entails. We must stop and reflect in family about the obligations and responsibilities that the possession of a domestic animal entails.

As parents they must be aware that it is not a game to take care of an extra living being to their children and to explain this clearly to the children, since they are not usually prepared by themselves to assume this enormous and hairy responsibility.

If, as parents, you are evaluating the option of having a new member in the family, they should ask themselves before they satisfy their child's wishes, if they can give the animal all the attention they need, if they have enough time, if they are aware of the expenses that entails the care of a pet, etc ....

In addition, it is advisable to involve the children, as much as possible, in the daily care of the animal (brushing, food, water and even walks with adults), so that they adequately value the responsibility of sharing our life with a dog.

Where to choose the puppy

Municipal kennels, associations and organizations that protect abandoned and battered animals looking for a home are excellent options. There you will find a perfect variety of dogs of all ages and sizes and if the decision was a family consensus, it is important to fully involve it in the process.

It is advisable to first know the pet before it is definitive, even more so if it is the result of an expedition to municipal kennels or animal protection organizations, to know if the furry will adapt positively to family and family to him.

So if you are thinking about having a furry and new member in the family, keep these reasonings in mind before it becomes complicated instead of a beautiful experience. Do not forget to share with your friends and comment on this post!
