Zombies beyond fiction: the zombie drug that is a boom in Brazil

In social networks disturbing images circulate about the effect of a synthetic drug called cloud nine, also known as zombie drug, that causes people to act as if they were 'living dead'.

The substance that was already famous in the United States and United Kingdom has caused a stir in Brazil after the publication of a video that shows a woman arrested by the police who appeared to be 'possessed'.

Another recording shows how a young star aggressively bangs his head against the glass of a bus. This drug made up of cocaine and even gasoline can produce agitation, insomnia, irritation, dizziness, depression, paranoia, delusions and even endow cannibalistic attitudes to its consumers, causing them to hurt others or themselves, according to the Administration for Control of Drugs.

"Cloud Nine" is not the only brain-stimulant with a catchy name, as there are also "Ivory Wave", "Vanilla Sky" or "White Lightning" within these substances known as "bath salts".
