There are different articles related to the benefits of yoga practice, just as there are various studies that prove the positive thing for the human body that is drinking beer and this place is the perfect combination of both worlds.
"Beer Yoga" is quite possibly the best new fitness regime ever invented, doing yoga has been deemed uncool with only hipsters and women doing yoga when the have been pregnant has truly given yoga a bad name for many years.
Can it really be good for us?
Although Beer Yoga does look enticing, I am not sure it can really improve our fitness, but that does not mean it cannot improve our health. Having a beer a day has been shown to reduce stress, that in combination with yoga seems to be one of the best ways to reduce unnecessary tension from work.
This crazy new class combines tough yoga positions, with the drinking of beer, deeming it quite possibly the best workout solution ever to have been invented. It originally started out in Berlin but after it was met with such a popular response, it has now won over fitness (and beer) fans down under in Australia.
Beer Yoga, a marriage of two great loves!
The creative team behind the class describes it accurately as the ‘marriage of two great loves—beer and yoga. Both are centuries-old therapies for mind, body and soul’.
Sounds fair, but apparently they take it very seriously. It’s not a place you can just rock up and get pissed… Founder and ‘yogi’ Jhula explains:
Beer Yoga is fun but it’s no joke. “We take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking to reach your highest level of consciousness”
The instructor is not the only one to advocate drinking and working out, as apparently she first saw it done at Burning Man festival in America, before jumping on the bandwagon.
As you might expect when combining yoga moves with beer, the bottles are very much part of the action, with poses such as ‘beer salutations’, including balancing bottles on your head. And what’s even better is you don’t need to be a bendy yoga pro to get in on the fun, as the classes stipulate that no experience is necessary.
This is definitely a win one of the biggest reasons we might avoid yoga is for the yoga pants they promote in a standard class. Instead, Instead they invite you to come with an ‘open mind and a love of beer’.
