Some superheroes can fly. This one can make you look fly.

Man dresses like a superhero to give free haircuts on the street

Mazing is a masked crusader whose power is cutting hair. The hair-battling superhero roams the streets of Toronto in full costume, armed with a barber's stool and pair of scissors.

For the past three years, Matthew Gesner has been hiding his secret identity and giving free haircuts to the homeless and anyone else who is interested.

When he's not taming the manes of the townspeople for free, he is working at Matthew Genser Salon near Kensington Market. He told CTV Toronto that giving free haircuts in costume is his way of connecting with other city residents.

"We're in a town where we all sit in a subway, we sit across from each other, and we don't say anything to each other, we don't smile at each other, we avoid each other," he said.

Putting on the neon green t-shirt emblazoned with a purple "M" along with his blue cape and domino mask changes everything for Genser.

He told CTV Toronto that the costume, which was made by a customer, makes people smile and treat him like a regular person.

Sometimes the people he helps on the street come to his salon as customers, but Genser isn't trying to advertise. He's just happy to help.
